The Robbins family began in the water well industry in 1910 operating as J. Henry Robbins Artesian Well Drilling in Gibbsboro, New Jersey. Most of the services originally performed by J. Henry Robbins are still alive and well in our business today. As the second generation took over operations of the business it became known as Robbins Bros. Well Drilling Co., which also operated out of the same location in Gibbsboro. By this time the Robbins family was well known in the water well industry throughout the South Jersey area. In 1979 Henry N. Robbins, Jr. began Robbins Water Service, Inc., operating out of Shamong, New Jersey, where we are still located. Today the daily operations of the business are shared by Henry and his two sons, John and Kurt, representing the fourth generation of well drillers in the Robbins family.
Henry has been actively involved in the water well industry since the early 1970's and is a New Jersey Master Well Driller. He was Vice President and sat on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Ground Water Association for many years. He holds numerous certifications acquired from years of hard work and dedication. Henry is a well known figure in the well drilling industry throughout the South Jersey area. He is recognized by the National Ground Water Association as a Certified Well Driller (CWD) and Certified Pump Installer (CPI).
John is a graduate of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and is a New Jersey Master Well Driller. Since the late 1990's he has accumulated numerous certifications related to well drilling and geothermal ground loop installations. He sat on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Ground Water Association before being elected to Vice President. He is recognized by the National Ground Water Association as a Certified Well Driller (CWD) and a Certified Vertical Closed Loop Driller (CVCLD).
Kurt is also a graduate of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and holds a Journeyman Drillers License. He has acquired a number of certifications related to well water pumping systems since the late 1990's. He is recognized by the National Ground Water Association as a Certified Pump Installer (CPI) and by Franklin Electric as a Variable Speed Drives Expert.
Marlene has staffed the office for Robbins Water Service since its inception in 1979. Her experience and dedication play a vital role in the daily operations of the business.
